"As you wait in my Presence, enjoy the greatest gift of all: Christ in you, the hope of Glory!"
-Sarah Young
The greatest gift of all...Jesus Christ, the Son of God, cleanser of all our sins, born and raised from the dead so that we may have everlasting life in heaven through faith in Him. There is no greater gift.

I am reminded of the well-known verse, John 3:16. Instead of thinking, "yes, I know that verse," carefully read each word and allow the depth of them to penetrate your heart.
John 3:16 - "God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life."

I cannot fully understand this gift with my human mind, but I am overwhelmed with gratitude.
I love how Ann Voskamp describes this very same principle in light of counting gifts...
I love how Ann Voskamp describes this very same principle in light of counting gifts...
"All gratitude is ultimately gratitude for Christ, all remembering a remembrance of Him. For in Him all things were created, are sustained, have their being. Thus Christ is all there is to give thanks for; Christ is all there is to remember. To know we can count on God, we count graces, but ultimately there is really only One."
So today, and everyday, I am focusing on the indescribable gift of Jesus Christ and the new life He is creating in me.
Colossians 2:6-7
"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."
Clicked on from the community....I too just stepped out into the blog world...much like you...Ann's book led me here. Her book was like coming home after a long journey....I have read and listened(nothing is better than having the book read with her words...her heart) over and over....feeling I the need to saturate myself in these truths that are transforming me. Yes..counting all the gifts...but never forgetting the greatest gift of all...the Lover of our souls...

Visiting from Ann's place today. Just yesterday I was overcome with so much emotion. As the tears flowed freely during worship, I reflected on this indescribable gift that I have in Christ Jesus.
